Our Hangout Room

I already shared with you my $35 campaign dresser find.
Well here it is.
When I first saw it on Craigslist, I thought whomever posted it
must have forgotten to add a one before the three or a zero at the end.
I just thought no one would sell a piece of furniture for under $50.
as seen on Craigslist
At first glance, I wasn't sold on it being a dresser/desk, but
after some thought I realized that it would become the perfect
piece of furniture to use as my workspace.

I do have to say I still can't believe it was $35.
It is really heavy wood.
And for $35 it looks great painted.

I decided on the color white.
I wasn't ready to commit to a different color.

And my poster finally arrived!
I love it!!
It is so beautiful in person.
It is made of silk-screen paper.
Gorgeous!

I wanted this room to be bright and cheery
since we also turned this space into a play area for AJ.
I love that the dresser has a lot of storage
for all my sewing and craft supplies.
With the help of hubby, we converted one of the drawers as a charging station
and now our electronics get charged there.
This way they don't look ugly on top of the dresser and
free up space for pretty accessories.
And now I have a small gallery wall.
It is perfect!

My bergere chair might not be a permanent piece in this room.
I am thinking of getting the Louis Ghost Chair to take the place of my bergere.
The knock-off version of course from eBay.

I added a small pillow of the Manuel Canovas Misia fabric.
I previously blogged about my love for this fabric here.
I love how it brings together most of the colors used in the room.
I added this large python tray from The Zhush.
I absolutely love it!

I also love this glass paperweight find.
I love that it has blue and green to bring the
colors of the lamp and my pen holder together.

I found this crystal/quartz votive holder at Anthropologie and fell in love it.
And I finally decided on the Seesaw Letterpress calendar.
See my calendar post here.
I wanted to bring some more gold in.

And lately this is where my blogging gets done.

And here is a peek of hubby's workspace.
Not yet complete, but it's a start.

We hung one of the Nama Rococo wallpaper panels above his desk.
I bought AJ the Eames rocker chair over Christmas
and he loves it. And I love it too!

And for the play area, we bought him a train table that
sits in the center of the room.

This room used to be the spot where things got dumped
before they made their way to the donation center or the garage.
Now it has been transformed to the perfect room.

This is our hangout place after work.
AJ plays while hubby and I hang out with a glass of wine.
And sometimes I am blogging while AJ is playing.
I am hoping that this room will allow me to get
a few more projects done while AJ is happily playing.

We will enjoy this room for the next two months.
The movers are scheduled to come mid-March.
I am thinking we will be shipping a lot more things to Peru
than I had originally anticipated.
