A Day at the Beach {#NatureCelebrates}

So the Deer Park #NatureCelebrates campaign is coming to an end. This past weekend we decided to celebrate by spending the afternoon at our local beach and the day couldn't have been more perfect. The kiddos loved it too. The day was in the 70's and there was a slight chill in the air that I decided to keep my chambray shirt on. My beach essentials {seen here} included my new bikini, my new book, Where'd You Go Bernadette, sunscreen, my beach tote, and my go-to panama hat. I wish I could say that I had an opportunity to sneak a few pages of the book while at the beach, but that was hardly the case. It doesn't hurt to try though. As you can see, AJ has gotten plenty of sun this summer and Ella Sofia just wanted to wear Mommy's hat. I don't blame her for that. The sun was bright.

I decided to go the extra mile on our lunch. I made a delicious chicken salad which I made into sandwiches. The other wrapped packages included peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and cookie butter {from Trader Joe's - delicious by the way} & jelly sandwiches for AJ since he doesn't like peanut butter. Not one sandwich was brought back home which is always a good thing. I also felt a little Martha-ish and decided to wrap nicely and tag each sandwich. I could have easily marked each wrapped sandwich with a sharpie, but I am not the only one who enjoys the nice details. It's definitely not something I do on every beach trip, but this trip felt special. And it's nice to make routine things a little more special every once in a while don't you think?

So please share with me how you celebrated this weekend in the comments below or by clicking on this link. And a big thank you for supporting me with this campaign.
Happy Monday!
