A Look Back at 2013
So this year has been a very eventful one to say the least. Looking back at my 34 years post, I can honestly say that I am becoming the woman I want to be. When I told this to someone recently, they replied "well you should already be the woman you want to be". I kindly disagreed and said that I am still growing as an individual, as a mom, as a blogger, as a business owner. So no, I am not yet who I want to be, but I know I am on the right path. I think to truly fulfill our place in this world you first have to find your passion, which will inevitably make you jump through some roadblocks, but you have to keep going when the going gets tough, be your own best friend, and stay positive through it all because energy follows thought. Looking back and reflecting on this wonderful year, this year has mainly been about finding my passion. I started this year thinking "2013 will be my year". And it has in a lot of ways. I have sincerely dedicated much of my energy towards turning those words into action and reality. Seriously, anything can be done when you truly devote yourself to one thing. Your power and strength is limitless when you dedicate yourself to your passion. When I started blogging I never imagined this life that I'm living now. I have said it before, I am living and doing what I love.
To summarize, 2013 was about finding my passion, and once I found it, I sought out ways to learn new skills and to make things happen for me. Here's a look back at some life-changing posts in case you missed them:
• I first decided to open up my business of interior design. Read this post. When I found out that wasn't as fulfilling as I thought, I took time off to regroup my thoughts and figure out what really it was that I loved doing. A couple of months later came this post.
• My 34th birthday post inspired by Damsel in Dior.
• I was lucky to have some amazing collaborations with wonderful brands. Julie Vos, Beyond Yoga, Online Shoes, Joules, Deer Park, West Elm, and Hello to name some. You can look at all the posts related to these collaborations here.
• I was pretty ecstatic when Home Depot pinned this diy project I completed.
• I have had the most amazing clients. Take a look here. I am updating it soon to list a few others.
• Another amazing thing this year was my Taking Care of Business series. It's been so popular on Pinterest. I am so happy to be able to share my knowledge and so blessed for the positive response on the topics. More posts related to this series will come in the new year.
• And last but not least, I started selling a few prints at Society 6. More will be added soon.
I am so very thankful for the way the year is coming to an end and for the support you have given me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for letting me be a small part of your lives, for reading my thoughts, projects, and obsessions, and for following me along in my journey. 2013 was about finding my passion. 2014 will be about evolving and growing!
Cheers to the new year my friends!
