Building Signature Pieces {First Edition}

Building a no-fail wardrobe can take years -- a bit of trial and error, bad trends we follow, impulse buys that end up being bad buys. Anyway, I think we all have been there at one point or another. I have made an effort over the last few years at building "signature pieces". Those signature pieces are my go-to's - I know I like them and I feel confident wearing them. And it's not just about finding the perfect pair of boyfriend jeans, it can also include your signature scent and your beauty products. For example, that hand lotion or lip balm you can't live without or the face cream that makes your skin glow. It really has become imperative to build signature pieces in all those aspects. And remember it's not about luxury, but quality. Really.

Above are just some of my "signature pieces". Instead of doing a super long post, I'm breaking these up and will showcase a few more later.

Signature pieces shown above:
J.Crew Panama Hat, Ray-Ban Aviators, Louis Vuitton Speedy Bag, J.Crew Ballet Flats, J.Crew Venus Flytrap Necklace, J.Crew Feather Ring {sold out}, Chloe Perfume, Le Weekend de Chanel, Gap Boyfriend Jeans, Rebecca Taylor Wildcat Sweater {sold out}, Alexa Chung It {not a signature pieces, but it looks pretty in the picture}

I think it's fair to say that 2014 will be about adding more signature pieces. So with that, let's follow these commandments of style so we can do just that. And I'm thinking I may just commit to the French Five Piece wardrobe. Who's with me?
