Agave Margaritas {& Tequila Fun Facts}
You can't have margaritas without guacamole and chips right?! This weekend in celebration of Cinco de Mayo I mixed a couple of margaritas with Jose Cuervo Tradicional® Silver Tequila. What I love about this tequila is it's made with 100% blue agave. And I also sweeten them with agave nectar so they were really, really good. I'm a margaritas on the rocks girl so I always make them that way {see the recipe below}.
Fun facts:
• Did you know that Cinco de Mayo is not Mexican Independence Day, but in fact commemorates the 1862 Battle of Puebla when Mexico defeated the French? Jose Cuervo® was there to celebrate – with shots of Tradicional®, of course!
• Jose Cuervo®, created in 1795, was the first tequila brand to harvest the rich agave which grew out of volcanic soil, creating Jose Cuervo Tradicional®.
• Jose Cuervo® invented the Margarita and inspired Beach Volleyball, and was there to slake the thirst of Americans during Prohibition.
