Weekend Memo
Happy Friday! This week AJ started full-time school and we are still trying to adapt to this new schedule. While I hope I can be more productive during the day, there was a whole lot of playing catch up with emails, home, work, and the blog. Hopefully, I'll have it all figured out next week, but I'm thinking new routines take longer than a week to settle so bare with me while we make the transition. And speaking about school, I had so many mixed emotions on AJ's first day. My little boy in kindergarten already. But besides that I couldn't help but think that I was basically handing over my child to the school system where yes he will learn a lot, but also where he will learn some "bad" manners from other kids, be influenced by others, and where I will have very little control of what goes on during those 7 hours he's at school. I may be overreacting, but on his first day, I started thinking if home school maybe wasn't such a bad idea. I'm not doing home school for many reasons, but I'm aware that as my first child heads into full-time school I'll be dealing with a lot of "firsts" as he will too. So what's my response to my emotions, join the PTO to force myself into the school system. Am I giving you the vibes of a controlling mom or what?! Really I'm not, I just want the best for my kiddos and I'm excited to do some volunteering, especially during the holiday season. I'm adding a couple more duties to my already full plate, but somehow I'll manage it all.Weekend MemoListening to . . . Colbie Caillat's version of Rude.J. Crew 25% off sale . . .
