Fall Entertaining Essentials
Hello October! I'm welcoming a new month and a new season by sharing my favorite entertaining essentials. As the weather cools down, I find more excuses to get in the kitchen cooking, but the cooler weather also makes me want to put on my hostess hat. During this time of year, I treat myself by adding a few more cloth napkins to my collection and I may even add a new serving platter {I recently scored this one for 1/2 off} or wood board. Serving on white plates and bowls helps the food the stand out and really makes it the focus on the plate.Platters and Wood Boards: I love white platters, but I also like having a couple of silver platters even if they look "weathered". For appetizers and cheese plates, I love using wood boards.Linens: These Celina Mancurti napkins are a new favorite and I love their simple elegance - good for casual affairs but can certainly be used on a more fancy event. For a tablecloth, this Belgian Linen Everyday Tablecloth is my new favorite that I want it in every color.Table decor: For fall, I'm choosing feathers. These Lady Amhurst feathers will definitely add some flair to the dinner table. I'm sure the kiddos will find them fun too!Flatware: For the past two years, I've been using these West Elm Gold Flatware for special occasions and dinners. A set of cheese knives is also a good idea!Glasses: Aside from wine glasses and champagne flutes, a new favorite everyday glass are these French petite picardie glasses that I saw in French cafes while in Paris. They will look great at the table with water or even wine.Flowers: They simply add a casual elegance.Candles: I prefer unscented taper and votive candles so that they don't compete with the smell of food.Other entertaining essentialsMake sure you stock on your favorite bottles of wine and champagne, sparkling water, cocktail napkins, and some fun gold picks for cocktails or appetizers.
