One of the best things of living in North Carolina is visiting the local farms. Strawberry picking during the spring, blueberry picking in the summer, and pumpkins in the fall. On my bucket list is to go to an apple orchard, but unfortunately the closest to us is a few hours away. Earlier this month we made it to Mike's Farm for their hayride and to pick our pumpkins. It's always so much fun for the kids and they really love the idea of getting in the field to pick the best pumpkin they can find. Mike's Farm has a great southern restaurant and having dinner there and buying some of their delicious pumpkin fudge from their bakery has become our fall tradition. I even found they make homemade molasses and I'm excited to try it when I make a batch of gingerbread cookies for the holidays. We will definitely be back there when December rolls around to do the same for our Christmas tree.
