Weekend Memo
Happy Friday! It's been so gloomy, dreary and cold over here that the only thing cheering me up are fresh flowers of course. Last week I watched the movie "It's Complicated" about four times {while I was sick} and it gave me the idea to make lavender honey ice cream. I'm having this obsession with lavender lately and in the movie Meryl Streep serves lavender honey ice cream for dessert. Doesn't it sound just lovely and perfect? So last Sunday I made my first batch of the ice cream and it's heavenly. I'll be sharing the recipe soon I promise. Changing gears, after starting the new year sick, we are finally feeling better. I may even attempt to run some errands today that have been piling up from the last couple of weeks. This week I also came into the realization that a city should be judged by its coffee. And I have to say, I still haven't found a decent coffee spot here. If you know of one in the Wilmington area please let me know. Starbucks continues to win, and I'm craving a little coffee spot like St. Alban or Black Tap Coffee {both in Charleston} to go hide with my laptop or meet friends.Weekend MemoIn case you missed it . . . the dos and don'ts of instagram, healthy recipes, how to be Parisian, and my spring staples.Steal . . . I had been eyeing this cardigan from Rag & Bone and when I found it for a quarter of the price, I just had to get it especially with this cold winter. I know I'll live in it even though I bought it a size too big. Do you ever do that? But I have to say, I'm loving the oversized look a la @mija_mija.Winter escape . . . Madewell has you covered on how to pack for your next winter escape. This will help me with our Outer Banks trip coming shortly. This Denim Homestead Shirt is definitely coming with me.Wythe Hotel . . . Lauren's latest trip to New York {as seen on her instagram} has me itching for a weekend trip to the city and stay at this chic hotel in Brooklyn.Instagram . . . this year more than ever I feel the need to be more selective with my Instagram photos. I may end up sharing less, but I think I have a better perception of what I want my Instagram to reflect. And I'm hoping I can stay true to my signature colors. It's a new year, and I'm hoping to give it a fresh new feel.Spring cleaning . . . I did some "spring cleaning" on my Pinterest account recently. I felt that there were some things that didn't reflect who I am now, so a few things got deleted.2015 . . . I've had a word/phrase for the last few years of what I want the year to look like. In 2013, it was to find my passion. In 2014, it was evolve and this year, I've battled to find the right word, but it may end up being "a fresh start" - to reflect on the past and move forward with a clean slate.Happy weekend my dears!
