Hello 2015!
I'm about a week late in sharing my new year's resolutions with you. As I'm not really one to make them, I revisited my goals. Here's what I hope to resolve this year.1. Eat more salads and drink more smoothies. It's no lie that the older you get your metabolism slows down. This year I'm hoping to trade the comfort foods for more fields of green. In essence, I'm trying to lead a healthier lifestyle. In the first week of the new year, I can report that I'm on the right track. I have a great kale salad to share with you soon.2. Simplify. I cleaned out my closet just before the holidays to make room for new things, but it just never feels like the task is completely finished. I think I need to reevaluate monthly what stays and what goes. The same goes for almost anything related to simplify-ing. My life. My home. My work.3. Exercise my creative juices. Thinking outside the box isn't always easy. It's easier to get stuck in the same rut inside your comfort zone. I need to start thinking outside the box more often and explore the not-so-comfortable areas.4. Stop and smell the roses.I need to make time for some fresh air. I'm one to work 12 hours straight if I could without a real break. I need to make time to pack up the car, the kids, and just go take a stroll on the beach or anywhere else for that matter. I also need to make time to play more and meet friends for coffee.5. Take more road trips.Being from the West Coast, I still haven't really seen the East. And I somewhat blame that on having young kids. They are definitely easier now and older, and I'm already planning a few trips. First up is Washington DC.6. Be more thoughtful. Send more snail mail. For someone who loves snail mail I sure don't do it quite enough. I'll buy some social stationary and stock up on pretty stamps and I hope I can easily accomplish this goal.7. Read more.I have a growing stack of books to read. This year I'm going to try to not buy a new book until I'm all caught up.8. Aim for more balance.Life isn't just all work, although at times it sure feels like it. I'm going to start penciling some me time or coffee/lunch dates with friends.9. Learn more about html.Ha! Without a doubt my knowledge in this computer language has grown, but there's still so much more.10. Expand my photography & styling skills. In this day in age, instagram has sort of become the new blogging world. I find that in order to expand my brand, I need to refocus my attention on growing my instagram account without hurting the attention to detail for this little blog.If you care to share, I would love to know what goals you have in mind for 2015. Please share in the comment section.image via
