Mommies Behind the Blog: Dominique of Comfy Cozy Couture

It's been forever since I've introduced a new mommy in my Mommies Behind the Blog series. But today, I'm picking up the series with a fabulous mommy. I have the honor to introduce the super talented interior Designer and my friend, Dominique from Comfy Cozy Couture. She's recently entered the world of motherhood and somehow she's still managed to keep working and blogging. She's definitely an inspiration and a woman and friend I admire. And the design of her nursery is a testament to how just talented she is. Keep on reading to read the interview and get glimpses of her beautiful baby and nursery.BabyElle_dominiqueandbaby1BabyElle_dominiqueandbaby1stName and occupation? Dominique DeLaney (voice behind Comfy Cozy Couture)Mom to Elle (5 mos. old), Blogger and Interior Designer. BabyElle_cribBabyElle_sleepingbabyYour favorite thing to do when you have time alone?Going antiquing or perusing local thrift shops for unique “finds”…catching up on my ever growing pile of design magazines or just having a little “me” time to get a pedicure is perfection!Three things you can't live without?

  1. Faith
  2. Family
  3. Iphone, Chapstick and Dry Shampoo (These count as one, right?)

BabyElle_horse_heartBabyElle_readingnookMommy uniform?Well since I’m currently nursing…anything that buttons is my best friend right now. So, I’m living in button ups (love these or these), striped tees, comfy jeans and flats. These from Gap are my new favorite as they have a higher rise, which is perfect for running around with a baby! Oh I don’t leave the house without my diaper bag of course, I love this one I have by Rebecca Minkoff.Favorite go-to store for kids toys/clothes?Oh this is a hard one because I already so many! I love Zara Mini, J.Crew Baby, H&M or Baby Gap but for unique pieces I’ve been shopping at ChildHoods for cozy baby sweats and I do love Mini Rodini. For toys and things I love BlaBlaKids Shop, LexyPexy Teethers, Fawn Shoppe and these crochet toys from Freja Toys.BabyElle_dominiqueandbabyBabyElle_libraryWhat's the biggest challenge with blogging full-time, photographer and being a new mommy? Have you hired help?Finding enough time in the day to get everything accomplished…which I’ve come to the realization that this never happens. I think the hardest thing is balancing it all- taking care of Elle, blogging, running my design business and still being able to spend time with the Mr. as well. It’s a constant balancing act but I’m loving every minute of it. We haven’t hired help yet but I’m on the hunt for a nanny to come 2-3 days per week so I can go on client meetings, design installs or run out to source things for clients. What words do you live by?I love these words from Laura Ingalls Wilder…The real things haven’t changed. It is still best to be honest and truthful; to make the most of what we have; to be happy with simple pleasures; and have courage when things go wrong.BabyElle_dominiqueandbaby2What's a current goal you are working towards?Focusing on new ways to grow my blog and interior design business and being “present” when I’m not working. It’s easy to get sucked into work non-stop when you own your own business...But I’ve been making a conscious effort to really be present for Elle and my husband and unplug from it all. It’s kind of amazing to be disconnected sometimes…Thank you so much Dominique for sharing beautiful photos of your baby and nursery with us. You can find all the sources on her fabulous nursery design here. To stay connect with Dominique and her beautiful baby, you can find her on her lovely blog, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest.
