Beach Beauty Favorites
Before arriving to Miami, I made sure to equip my beauty bag with beach and summer favorites as I'm sure I'll be getting more than a healthy dose of Vitamin D. For this reason, I'm taking precautions to get that healthy summer glow without harming my skin. But before I added some of these to my beach beauty bag, I did plenty of research reading magazines and plenty of online articles. I feel confident saying these are my favorite beach beauty buys. And now I'm ready for summer.
These items will also be traveling with me on weekend getaways. Key West here we come!
Here are my favorite beach beauty buys for my hair, face and body.
BEACH BEAUTY FAVORITES
Hair
Obviously, humidity will be a problem. I started using Living Proof No Frizz products and I can already see some drastic improvements to my hair problems. I'm also using this humidity shield, and if you need some hold for your hair, this hair spray is humidity resistant.
Sun Protectors
For my face I've been using this sunscreen and this one. It just depends on the coverage I want, but they are both amazing, sheer, lightweight, and non-whitenening. If your face is prone to dark pigmentation, I recently found this sunscreen for the face that helps prevent dark spots and minimize skin deterioration.
For the body, I'm using this one by Bare Republic. This one by La Roche-Posay also comes highly recommended.
Dark Spot Correctors
Sun exposure without the proper protection causes ugly dark pigmentation spots on my face. I've been using Tri-Luma {prescription only} for the past month, and it works wonders. It's a bit pricey at around $150, but it sure beats paying for expensive laser treatments. Within the week of using Tri-Luma, I noticed my dark spots lightening. By week four, my dark spots were mostly gone. It's a must if sun exposure causes your skin to get dark spots. And this sunscreen is perfect because it also helps prevent pigmentation.
For the Effortless Summer Face at the Beach
You don't need much make-up when you're at the beach. This moisturizer is vitamin-enriched and it helps my face look younger and fresher. Sunscreen is mandatory - see my picks above. This beach stick by Charlotte Tilbury or this beach tint by Becca is great for giving you that summer glow. My latest beauty trick I recently learned from the current issue of Porter magazine - your beach look is instantly upgraded when you apply clear lip gloss or this cream over your eyelids - I can't wait to try this trick. Finish the look with waterproof mascara and this lip gloss in coral and you'll have the perfect summer face.
Post-Sun Skin Soothers
As much I like to avoid my kids from getting sunburn, myself included, there are inevitably some days where it's impossible not to. For years, I've been using this Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream and it's a miracle worker. For the face, this extra soothing balm is wonderful.
