Weekend Memo {so they say it takes a village}

happy-weekendI'm keeping it very real for this week's weekend memo. . .So they say it takes a village to raise kids. No news there, but let me tell you about the trials and tribulations all due to our move. We are to the point where we have been referred by our new pediatrician to see a psychologist to deal with our son's anger issues. I understand most of the time about why he's having a meltdown and I try to be patient. I try. I know that this move is a lot to process - we removed him from his safe place {our previous home}, from his friends, from our old neighborhood, from his favorite summer camps, from his school, etc. But even knowing all of this doesn't make me a better mom. Somehow I need to find a way to replenish my patience levels. I obviously need new skills to deal with these issues. He also needs new skills to deal with all of this anger as he quickly gets angry about everything and anything. As a result his attitude is suffering, and honestly I'm losing my patience quicker and quicker by the day. And to top it off, I've been sick all week making matters worse.Where's my village?! Aah, I need my village! {Can you just hear me scream?} The good news as with any issue, it's slowly getting a little better. Time heals everything and soon I have faith, with the right help, this too shall pass.Anyway, I hope you've been having a great summer. I can't believe we are about to end July and enter the back to school madness. Honestly, I'm ready for it. I think it will help me to have a few hours of the day just to myself.Weekend MemoIn case you missed it . . . 14 days of Target denim, home progress, grapefruit sorbet cups, and life in Miami.In style . . . my latest color combinations: one, is as seen above - pairing whites and blues with black accessories; two, is mixing black and tan accessories.In the office . . . 8 things all entrepreneurs need.In the home . . . I think I have finally decided on the color of the inside of our entry door. And this little wash nook is making me want a mudroom.A design dilemma . . . so the kids have decided to share a room. I've been working on how to combine all the pink stuff my daughter had in her old room with all of the boy stuff in my son's room. Not an easy feat. I'm beginning to wonder if this is a good idea.Road trips . . . our trip to Key West has been booked and I'm already planning what to pack. But this weekend, we are making our way up to Savannah/Hilton Head area and I'm excited for some down time in our old stomping grounds. I have a feeling this will be good for the family.In the kitchen . . . as a French-fry connoisseur, I can't wait to whip these skinny greek feta fries. And one of the best summer meals we've had is this grilled skirt steak with chimichurri sauce and this corn salad. You must try them! I think I may feature them next week.Home tour . . .  I'm feeling inspired by Marysia Reeves's new L.A. home.Sales . . . J. Crew has 20% off select styles, and 40% off additional all sale. And there's still a couple of days left to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.Happy weekend!image
