Mussels in White Wine Sauce, French Bread, White Wine & a Bottle of Rosé

Target recently invited me to join their #Love2plaid campaign. As a fan of this classic, fall pattern I didn't hesitate adding some plaid elements to our home decor, our table setting for entertaining, and of course my outfit. It was such an easy way to update our home for fall. And as the holidays approach, layering some festive decor will definitely make it more cheerful.

And because I'll come up with any excuse to entertain, I came up with the idea to host a first day of fall party to bring out my plaid decor. I kept the table setting simple by adding little leaves of sage for a small pop of green and adding some small white pumpkins would have been ideal to go with my fall theme, but my local grocery store didn't have any yet. And I definitely broke some rules when layering my square plaid plates over round plates, but I liked the contrast. Will you play by the rules or break the rules with Target plaid? #TargetStyle

When I was planning the menu for this occasion, I wanted to keep it simple, light and easy. I didn't want to be stuck in the kitchen all evening, so I picked a favorite meal under 30 minutes to prep and cook. Also, the food couldn't compete with my lovely tablescape so mussels in white wine it was - the flavors of the sea to match with our destination. And since warm weather is still lingering in Miami for a few more weeks, we had bottles of chilled white wine and rosé.

The entertaining season has started in our home and it began with this dinner. And really what better way is there to do that then to share a cozy meal and some much needed quality time with your closest friends.

I invite you to add some plaid to your home decor this fall. Find your style @TargetStyle.
