Conch Fritters Sandwich at B.O.'s Fish Wagonswan-fortzachary-keywest

I'm starting the week by sharing the second part to our weekend escape to Key West {see the first set of photos here}. This short 3 1/2-hour trip from Miami to Key West was well worth it. It's famed for its pastel-hued beaches, laid-back attitude, and chickens happily walking along the sidewalks next to you. The chickens actually made an attraction for the kids as they had fun chasing them. I was surprised that it’s more of a destination for snorkeling and diving because of its beautiful coral reefs. I came back feeling like we missed so much of the Florida Keys, but I'm sure there will be a next time. Here's a short guide to Key West:What to Do: For snorkeling and biking, go to Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park. To spend some lazy days at the beach try Smathers Beach. And don't miss the sunset. Try a sunset sailing trip if you can. The beaches are perfect for paddle boarding too.Where to Eat: Blue Heaven for breakfast, and B.O.'s Fish Wagon for their famous conch fritters sandwiches. What to Take: A camera, a water camera if you have one, snorkeling equipment {or you can rent it there}, and plenty of other beach essentials.Next on the travel agenda, Marco Island. I'm excited to explore more of Southern Florida.
