A Holiday Home Update {Part 2}

December is here, and the countdown to Christmas has begun. That means holiday cocktail parties are in full swing, Christmas gifts are being wrapped, and holiday cards are being written and mailed -- or at least we should be getting started with some of these things. With that in mind, I recently created two new holiday vignettes in our home.
Since I've always dreamed of having a dressing room in our bedroom or closet, I started by adding a long mirror to the room. To this day, I don't know why we didn't have one before. I then decided I wanted to take the space a step further and create a small, festive area to get holiday ready this season. Here's what my equation involved.
Mirror + Reindeer Stag Head + Side Table = An inviting place to get holiday ready
I added some festive lighting, a small ornament, a dish to set my jewelry, and a soft rug, all to make the space extra cozy but functional. I've been enjoying having this space and waking up to it every morning. It reminds me that there are many beautiful occasions in the month ahead and many reasons to feel blessed this season.
I created another new area by turning my desk into a holiday wrapping/writing station. Because wrapping gifts and sending out holiday cards is one of my favorite things to do this time of year, I decided that a station would not only be functional, but also an inspiring place to sit and do the task at hand. Here's what this holiday equation involved.
Holiday Pillow + Desk + Wrapping and Holiday-Card Supplies = A festive wrapping/writing station
To make the space more inviting, I layered some festive accents, such as a nutcracker and our advent calendar. For functionality, I added an antique mint julep cup to hold a pair of gold scissors and pens, and a tray to hold the wrapping supplies.
