Cheers To Summer With Sequoia Grove

saramueller-cheesepartyI hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend. We started the holiday with a wine and cheese party on Friday, and followed it by backyard barbecues all weekend long. It's almost become a weekly tradition that we host cocktail hour come the end of the week. I love that it brings all of our closest friends together for a couple of hours to catch up from our busy lives. And this past Friday was no different. We greeted the long holiday weekend with a get together with our friends.

I set out a long cheese board and layered it with fruits, cheese, bread, nuts, olives, and a little honey. I love the simplicity and ease of making a cheese plate -- there's very little prep work and planning, and it's ready in just a few short minutes.

But really, what makes any party or get together for me are the wines. I always lean towards having a good red and a good white. And because high-quality wines are essential when hosting a wine and cheese party, we served one of our favorites wines by Sequoia Grove that we normally reserve for more special occasions. Since we were greeting summer and a long weekend, it seemed more than appropriate. Sequoia Grove wines are exceptional in balance and in finesse and always elevate any celebration in my opinion. Not only are the wines special, I love the classic label as well.

We decided to decant the Cabernet Sauvignon to give it some oxygen and open up the flavors. And both wines were big hits when we introduced them to our friends. For the next party, I'm dying to try the Rollicking Rosé.

Sequoia Grove is a family-owned winery located in the heart of Napa Valley and for more than 30 years, it has lived up to a notable reputation for world-class wine production.
