Tips On How To Get Inspiration Back In Your Life

I'm sure you've noticed a lack of inspiration around here. It's been a rough patch that I'm slowly trying to overcome. At the same time, I'm trying to not force anything, and I'm practicing being patient with myself. So when inspiration hits, it will hit. In all honesty, I actually crave being inspired. It's what fuels my senses, what makes me feel good, and what gives me creativity. Aaaah, I've really missed it. It almost feels like a part of me is gone when I don't feel passionate or inspired about something and I tend to lose all creativity.

If you're asking why it's happened, I really don't have one clear answer, but more like a few. Aside from life, stress, and a new routine I think it's pretty safe to say that we all go through our ups and downs. I've realized that I'm dealing with a spurt of the Monday blues, which then turned into the Tuesday blues, and it goes on and on. A mild case of depression? Maybe, but I know it's nothing serious.

Looking back at our summer, it had a lot of highs -- Paris, family visiting, and then we finished it with an epic ending at Disney World. So I'm sure these blues are mainly due to the fact that I miss having my family around.

So I wanted to share some tips on how I'm working on beating these blues and my lack of inspiration.

Disconnect - I've unplugged myself from basically all sorts of social media. It has allowed me to really be present in my day to day activities.Escape - I've realized that I needed a virtual escape and while I felt the need to unplug from social media I turned to other forms of this -- reading or watching a movie or a show. It provides a new sense of motivation.Cook and/or bake - This may not be for everyone, but for me getting in the kitchen is therapeutic.Workout - I'm back at the gym sweating and I love it when every muscle in my body aches. It goes without saying that working out regularly relieves stress.Surround yourself with pretty things - it's like retail therapy, and when pleasing to the eye, it helps a visual and creative person like myself. An organized home is an organized mind - I went through a purge phase recently and I reorganized a few things that were yelling to be dealt with.Other ideas - catching up with old friends and/or squeeze in some lunch or dinner dates.
