Holiday Notes: Bucket List
I've been slowly adding holiday touches around the house. The bar even got a little update with champagne and some cute Christmas tree drink stirrers. Every year, I decorate and listen to holiday music, but I don't always get to everything on my list below. This year, I want to make sure we get to do everything as I hope that they become family traditions.
Holiday Bucket List
1. Make a holiday playlist.
2. Plant paperwhite bulbs before Thanksgiving. I like them blooming by Christmas. I found the perfect rustic terracotta pots to plant them in.
3. Make a homemade apple pie. This can be checked now. I made one this weekend.
4. Put up our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. The earlier the better for me.
5. Watch our favorite holiday movies, and make an afternoon movie date with the kids to watch Home Alone and Elf.
6. Take the kids to see a tree lighting.
7. Go see the holiday windows at Anthropologie.
8. Start the kids' advent calendar. The tricky part is filling it with special goodies.
9. Host a holiday cocktail party or brunch.
10. Make a signature cocktail drink for said brunch or party.
11. Make all of my favorite Christmas cookies.
13. Make and decorate a gingerbread house.
13. Take family holiday photos.
14. Send out Christmas cards.
15. Eat, drink, and be merry!
One of the reasons I love this time of year is because we make time for these special occasions. Somehow it's the busiest time of the year, yet that doesn't stop us from celebrating the season with our family and friends. I also love how everything feels magical, sprinkled with a little Christmas fairy dust. There's that special something in the air, and I love how the town get transformed with twinkly lights glowing everywhere. It's a magical time of the year.
This holiday season I wish you and your loved ones many blessings.
Eat, drink and be merry! Cheers to the holiday season!
