Andy's Birthday Party Details & Invites From Paperless Post
The excitement of turning 8! We surprised him with balloons and birthday donuts on his birthday. And this is becoming a tradition on the kids' birthdays.
For his birthday party though, we celebrated with our friends. We came up with the theme Camp Andy and he just loved the idea, and the party of course.
One of my favorite details of the party, besides the cake and cookies, were the invites from Paperless Post.
Seriously, how cute are they, and those lined envelopes?! And the quality is awesome.
I made gingerbread cookies in a woodlands theme to go along with Camp Andy, and of course the goodie bags were filled with some camping essentials. I found Oriental Trading to be the best place to find goodie bag items at a reasonable price.
If you need a gingerbread cookie recipe, see this post. And if you're wondering about the cookie cutters, they came from Ikea.
The weather was unusually cool, and there was a breeze in the air. And we got lucky that it only rained for like 1 minute. We couldn't have asked for better weather. For fun and games, the tent was a big hit, we did multiple games of tug-a-war, corn hole, and the potato sack race. The best part was that the kids had a lot of fun that they didn't want to stop playing to cut the cake. Unfortunately, the party had to come to an end around sunset.
The cake was a big hit with everyone. We received so many compliments on the cake topper that came from Etsy -- one of my favorite places to find unique and special items. We sang happy birthday in three languages, because when in Miami, and we finished the party with cake and presents. Andy still talks about his party.
Happy birthday my sweet boy!
