Give The Gift of Reading With Kindle for Kids
This is a very special time of year. We're visiting family near and far. We're searching for meaningful, thoughtful gifts for family and friends. And we're more busy than ever. But the spirit of the Christmas season keeps us going. It definitely puts a pep in my step every morning as I come down and see the Christmas tree all lit up. I grab my cup of coffee and play Christmas tunes softly in the background. I love it and the kiddos cherish it.
This season, though, seems a little different to me than it has in the past. Do you feel the same way? I'm focusing on giving gifts with intention -- gifts that will last more than one season, and gifts that my kids won't tire of so quickly. So when Amazon reached out to partner on their Kindle for Kids Bundle campaign, I immediately jumped at the chance. It's like they read my mind.
We've put it to the test and I have to say, we are loving it, especially my son who's in second grade. And I love it for several reasons: 1) With Kindle FreeTime I can set goals for my child. 2) I can easily track his progress and see his accomplishments. 2) It's great for traveling and even short car rides around town. 3) I have peace of mind that he won't go surfing online or play a game. It's just for reading! and finally, 4) There's no blue light coming through the device that will keep him up at night. If you want to use it for nighttime reading, you'll need to buy a reading light.
Oh, and did I mention that the battery lasts for weeks, it holds thousands of books at one time, and you can set up multiple profiles on one device for the whole family to enjoy. It's awesome, and it comes with a 2-year worry-free guarantee.
This weekend, we made our first batch of Christmas cookies. I also made hot chocolate to go with the cookies -- white hot chocolate for Andy {as he doesn't like milk or semisweet chocolate varieties} and extra dark for Ems. It's so rewarding for me to see Andy reading and enjoying new books. That morning, he was reading the book called Max and Tony about a boy and a detective dog on the Kindle. And that just warms my heart! And he always gets extra bonus points when he reads to his little sister.
And this doesn't mean I'll stop buying actual books. I love that the Kindle is a great educational tool, compact, and travel-friendly. If you're on the market for a great, educational, and rewarding gift this season, I think the Kindle for Kids makes a perfect option.
