My Home Tour on Glitter Guide
Today I'm having a pinch-me kind of moment -- to see our home tour on Glitter Guide this morning is definitely a dream come true and one huge item to check off the bucket list. When they first contacted me I almost wanted to say no. Crazy, but I felt so unready. I never expected them to reach out in the first place. Our house?! What?! When I first opened up the email from Glitter Guide a few months ago and read about this home tour, I almost cried. They chose me and our house?! Really? Or am I dreaming this? Of course, I knew I wanted to do this home tour, and although it did push me a bit out of my comfort zone, and added more stress, it was totally worth it. I never expected in the first place to be where I am right now today. So today, I'm celebrating this huge accomplishment and counting my blessings.
In this post, I've also included some photos that didn't make the tour.
I definitely felt out of my comfort zone because it was pressure to create a photo-shoot ready home. It really isn't as easy as it sounds, because as much as I would love to live in this photo-shoot ready home, it's just unrealistic at this point with two little kids. It was also my first time doing any sort of home tour collaboration, and I definitely learned a few new things from this experience which I want to share with you in a later post.
I also pushed myself to make our home look even better. I even created a secret board on Pinterest for home ideas and projects. I started by painting the inside of our front door. I chose the color not just because of the name "love and happiness" but it's the perfect pink nude -- a neutral in my opinion. It's by Benjamin Moore in case you're wondering. And I added so many new things -- like new pillows for our sofa, new bedding and a new rug in the master, a new shelf in the bathroom, and this new piece of art that has become my most treasured piece, among other things. I gave my husband so many headaches, but he understood the importance of this new opportunity. Thanks love!
I was also lucky and blessed to partner with so many amazing companies that I owe a million thanks:
- Maison du Soir for their new silk pajamas as seen in the bedroom.
- Clare V. let me borrow one of their bags for the shoot as seen in the entry.
- The Maryn for the Woman in Hat print, an absolute favorite.
- Alice & Olivia let me borrow the outfit I'm wearing in the dining room.
- J. Crew sent some new ballet flats too.
So thank you, thank you to those companies! And also, a big thank you to Glitter Guide for allowing me, my kids, and our home to be a part of such an amazing and inspiring community. And of course, another big thank you to our amazing photographer, Christine, for her patience and wonderful photography. To my friend Natalie for making me look prettier with her makeup magic.
To my readers, thank you for motivating me to keep doing what I love, for all of your kind words throughout the years, and for following our journey here. You and your words mean the world to me!
If you missed it, head on over to Glitter Guide to see our entire home tour. I'm also taking over GG's instagram stories so follow along there. I'm off to drink some champagne and celebrate. Cheers!
