Fourth of July
I love any and all holidays. But you probably knew that already. I just love the idea of a special occasion that gives me an excuse to whip up a dessert and set a nice table. For the fourth of July, our tradition is to do some sort of bbq dish -- like the rest of America, and some sort of a berry pie. This was the menu for yesterday's festivities in case you're wondering.

I kept the dessert light and fresh, and almost oven-free. The graham cracker crust was the only ingredient that required some baking. The rest was pretty simple. And I of course wore some stripes in honor of the holiday.
The party got moved indoors after the day turned into an unexpected rainy afternoon. So we turned on some music and enjoyed the celebration inside.
And after the rain, our evening plans changed but we still enjoyed the fireworks from the backyard of our house. All you really need are some sparklers, anyway!
Happy belated 4th of July!
