Life Lately
We're Moving! You may have seen my announcement on instagram that we're moving this summer to the Washington, DC area. It's so overwhelming since we have three months left in Southern Florida. Three months to plan the move, find a home, find a good school district for the kids, and did I mention I want to find a job too! Anyway, it's a lot in such a short amount of time. And it feels all-consuming at times. I've already applied for about 14 jobs. Hopefully, something will stick!
Currently Watching. Finishing the third season of Victoria and started to watch Jamestown. Also, I'm looking forward for the premiere of the final season of Game of Thrones next month.
Ems sickness. We got a diagnosis of gastritis and ulcers, and I'm administering all of her medication, which by the way, she hates to take. Needless to say, I'm not very popular with her these days. Long story short I sent the hubby to the pharmacy to get the medication and he came home with pills -- big pills. I immediately put a call in to the Pediatric Gastroenterologist to get them in liquid form. She hates them the same. Arghh!
Leaving Miami. This move will totally break our hearts. We've made so many great friendships and a lot of them feel like family. But I'm so looking forward to a change in scenery and to have real seasons again. Like a real fall and spring. Also, how fun will it be to have NYC so close! Anyway, we'll definitely make it back to Miami for visits.
Purging. A move brings an opportunity to purge/donate some of the old things we've acquired and not loving, or simply getting rid of some things that are just too worn out to bother moving with. I already have a big list of things we'll be leaving behind/donating -- like our sofa, our coffee table, the kids craft table, their bunk beds, among other things. And I've already got a list of things I would eventually like for the new place.
Spring cleaning. As well as purging some furniture, I'll definitely tackle our closets. I did a mini purge the other day, but a major one is coming. There are a lot of things that the kids have outgrown, and some things in my closet that I've outgrown style-wise.
