10 Spring Wardrobe Staples
For some time now, I've been focusing on building a wardrobe that will be timeless -- a capsule wardrobe, if you will. And I'm making sure to invest in a few key quality pieces that will stand the test of time and last a few years. Because less is more sometimes.
Lately, I have been trying to trim my closet and only keep those items that I use regularly. And just this past weekend, I donated three huge bags of clothes. I have to say, it felt pretty good and now I can truly appreciate what I have. Yes, less is more.
Quality over quantity!
Every season, I make a list of those staples I know I'll be using week after week. You know, those items that will be in heavy rotation during the season. For me, they're mostly basics that easily complete an outfit.
These are my spring, and maybe even my summer, staples.
- Basket Bag - I love my Kayu basket bags, and just recently, I added this one from Loeffler Randall, also here.
- Espadrilles - Castaner has been my go-to brand. I'm also eyeing this pair from J.Crew.
- Wide-Leg Pants - In white or off-white. These are my go-to as of late. I have to say, I'm kind of over the skinny denim trend.
- White Skirt - This one is under $30 and just a great basic. If you're looking for something more interesting, try this one.
- White Button Down Shirt or Eyelet Top - I live in white tops. You can always complete a look by adding a white top to denim or skirts.
- Ballet Flats - Last year, I splurged on a pair of Chanel flats, and I'm so glad I did. I can pretty much live in ballet flats all year round. Also, loving these pointy flats.
- Classic T-Shirt or a Smocked Top - I love to wear t-shirts under blazers or simply as a top. You can even dress it up with denim and a pair of black pumps.
- Tortoise Sunglasses - Simply classic, a pair of tortoise sunglasses are my go-to on sunny days.
- Mom Jeans - I'm loving this trend of high rise and a more straight look.
- Sandals - My latest Zara find is a pair of good leather flats, similar here. I'm also loving these for an elevated look.
If I had to add one more it would be a linen blazer. This one is great for the price.
