Weekend Memo No. 140

I spent all of Friday trying to book my mom and sister a flight to come visit. They're not the planner type, and when they called that they wanted to come visit, I immediately got on the airline website to get them a ticket. They arrive tomorrow. Yes, they're more the spur-of-the-moment people. Anyway, we're just so happy that both their schedules coincided and they're visiting. So today, it's all about getting ready for their visit.

A few days ago, I finally opened up Gwyneth Paltrow's new cookbook. I perused the entire book and I was so amazed by the recipes. I know I'm a little late to this, but better late than never. They're healthy but sound delicious. I've made a few of her recipes now, and I'll be sharing them next week.

Free People Top, J. Crew Pants {on sale}, YSL Sandals, Staud Bag, French Market Tote {eyeing this one}

On Saturday, we went over to the National Building Museum to explore their summer pop-up #LawnDC. It ends September 2 so we knew we had to get out there before it's over. The kids enjoyed it, played corn hole, rolled down the hilly lawn, and sat in the hammocks. We then trekked over to Union Station for some lunch. It was good day!

When we moved in to the new house I did a big closet clean-up. . . I donated six big bags of clothes. My small closet forced me to do this, but I'm so glad I donated what I don't wear. Now I can see what I have and what I don't have. I realized I don't have flowy, silky summer dresses. I'm eyeing this one, this one, and this one. And just ordered this one. The colors are perfect to transition into fall, and I love the tiny floral details.

I found my favorite tees -- this one for a splurge and this one that's more budget friendly.

I'm having an obsession with cashmere pants to lounge around the house. It started when I found a pair at Marshall's and then these at Madewell. Now I want these from Everlane too! These are a budget-friendly pair that I may also give a try. I'll be living in them from now until spring I'm sure!

I'm also loving the new Hatch x J.Crew collaboration. Although, I'm not expecting, I want this mama cashmere sweater.

In case you missed it. A few favorites from the Shopbop sale. My favorite tweed jacket.
