Our Trip To Shenandoah Valley & Where To Stay
Better late than never. I'm gotten a few messages requesting to share where we stayed, and I thought I would share with all of you as well. This trip came as a result of our summer plans getting canceled. Initially, we were going to New Jersey and the Jersey Shore to visit family, then stopping in Rhode Island to meet some friends, and then ending up in Connecticut to meet some friends that recently moved from Miami to Connecticut. But with this pandemic, it all got canceled. We were so bummed, so to make up for it, we thought a road trip to Shenandoah Valley would be the best alternative considering travel is still somewhat restricted. Hopefully, next summer right?
So where did we stay? I ended up finding this cute bed and breakfast, Cave Hill Farms. To accommodate the four of us, we stayed in the bridal suite. LOL! And their breakfasts didn't disappoint. They really put thought in what they serve and the presentation. However, we felt that the property could be better maintained. It's also located not in the best area of Shenandoah, but overall we were happy with our stay and our experience.
This is the bridal room, and I have to say, it was my favorite room anyway. The French country vibes made me feel I was waking up in the countryside somewhere in France. It was also nice to wake up in a place other than our home for a change. It was just the respite we needed.
I loved this embroidered pillow. I'm on a hunt to find it. I think my husband can relate.
I had bought this dress earlier in the summer, and when we planned this trip I thought it would be great to wear out to dinner. The fact that it ended up matching the room was a happy surprise. I hadn't put much thought into it, but I'm glad I packed it.
Because when you finally make it out of town during this pandemic, it's obligatory to celebrate the occasion with some champagne no less.
We rented canoes to see more of the Shenandoah Valley, rain and all.
We are blessed to be healthy and to have had the chance for this escape. We are taking nothing for granted during these times.
