Holiday Notes: Family Recipes
For years now, I've been collecting family recipes from both sides of the family (my husband's and mine). A lot of them get shared through this little blog, and some don't but are just as wonderful and delicious. Some of these recipes have turned into family traditions, while some are definitely holiday traditions. Whatever the case or occasion, I'm saving them. Recently, I had the idea to put them all in this recipe book with my own handwriting because this book truly comes from my heart, my kitchen, and is something I can pass on to the kids. It will live forever.
I'm also making a point to share a story or tradition behind each recipe, and something that kids can look back on as they start their own families one day (very far away). LOL! Our Friday pizza nights, our holiday cookies, our pasta making days, and above all, our time in the kitchen together.
And truth be told, the one thing Ella has asked on multiple occasions, is to get my recipes when she's older, and that just melts my heart. Andy thinks that I will cook and bake for him forever, and that just cracks me up. I guess that sums them up.
Happy December and holiday season!
