Antlers & Animal Heads

The name of this post sounds a bit creepy doesn't it? But this post is for my best friend. She recently visited me while hubby was away and she helped me hang some deer antlers I bought from here. Can you tell I buy a lot of things from here? I love her shop. My bff thought I was a bit crazy for hanging antlers.

Then one night we were watching The Time Traveler's Wife while sipping some red wine when we saw a scene with deer antlers very similar to the ones we had hung. I tried looking for the scene, but couldn't find a pic online. We laughed. I told her that by the time she left she would be in love with them. She left and I don't think I have succeeded in that yet, but I am still working on it. So in her honor, I am posting my inspiration pictures for my deer antlers. Maybe they are growing on her - not literally of course.

It was either antlers or an animal head.

I was leaning more towards an animal head from here, but the area they were to be hung was in our dining room bar area which is tight and if you were to pour a drink the head would be right in your face. I thought that was creepy. So I decided on the antlers. I thought they would be friendlier. And I think they are.

If I could change the wall color I would, but we live in a rental and our landlord isn't so forthcoming with change. It looks like a pinkish peach in the photo, but it is more orange in person. Whatever the color, it is not my favorite. I wish I had white walls.

By the way, my favorite Etsy store is having a super sale tomorrow. Make sure you check it out!
