Stencils and Me Aren't Meant To Be

DIY

I just saw this post today on Design Sponge about stencils. That post was a few days late. I was working on a stencil project for our living room last weekend.

This was me excited about the project

before I failed.

Okay, this is the real me.

If I had only known what a horrendous mess I was about to make, I wouldn't be looking like that. I would be looking more like this, but as a brunette.

Sadly, I got so frustrated that I did not take a picture of my failure to share with you. It went straight to the garbage or as AJ says "garnan."

This is the project I attempted which I completely failed or it failed me. I like how the latter sounds.

On a positive note, I did learn something from this project.

I will NEVER EVER EVER in my life try to stencil anything again!
I admire those who have stenciled anything in their life with success. Hello Gorgeous you have me at hello! I love your stenciled walls. For a photo of her stenciled walls go here or here.
Julie from Milk and Honey Home also shared pictures of her friend's stenciled walls. My respect and admiration goes out to her. Aren't her walls beautiful?

Instead of calling it failure, I will just rephrase it and say this:
Stencils and me are just not meant to be.
