Spring Cleaning {File Clean Up Day}
As I shared yesterday, I am dedicating this week on doing some spring cleaning
and I am starting by doing something that is quite often neglected.
For some reason I always seem to procrastinate cleaning up my computer files.
Files just seem to accumulate and although I do try to delete what I don't need {that's where
Pinterest plays a big role}, they still somehow end up in folders. Does that happen to you?
Last week, I shared with you a neat wallpaper to keep your desktop organized which I have
been using ever since. However, there are still multiple files within the computer that
I have been neglecting to clean up. Therefore, I am declaring today to be file clean up day.
First, let me start by saying that I am no computer expert.
Here are six simple steps I am planning on using in case you are
curious to know how I am going about this.

// Step 1 // Organize folders and clear out unnecessary files.
Begin by deciding which files you no longer need on your hard drive.
Take the time to plan the best way to organize your files and
identify if your folders are named properly and use sub-folders to locate things easier.

// Step 2 // Remove clutter from your desktop. Having a few files and folders on your
desktop is fine, but Mac computers create separate windows for each desktop icon
and a seriously cluttered desktop can really slow down your Mac. Group your items in
folders to reduce the number of icons.
// Step 3 // Empty your trash. Emptying the recycle bin can free up hard drive
space on your computer.
// Step 4 // Back up and save important documents.
And while cleaning your files, go ahead and follow the two last
steps to make sure that your Mac is functioning to its fullest.
// Step 5 // Perform a full update. Keeping your software up to date is essential.
// Step 6 // Restart your computer. Restarting your computer gives your system a refresh.
