Butterbredeles {Cookie Recipe}
A couple of weeks ago, I gave you a peek at these cookies via instagram and I am now just getting to sharing the recipe with you. The recipe actually comes from a French blog called, B Comme Bon. We ended loving this cookie recipe and it has been added to my holiday cookie mix. I love having homemade cookies around the holidays, especially Christmas time, but since AJ is a big cookie monster, we did this recipe as a test run. And since I am a big baker, I have a cooking scale and it came really handy to go from ounces or cups to grams. I weighed my flour, sugar, and butter. See the recipe below.
Butterbredeles
+ 250 g flour
+ 90 g sugar
+ 125 g butter, softened (add more as needed)
+ 2 egg yolks, at room temperature
+ 1 tsp vanilla/cinnamon/anise powder
+ 1 pinch of kosher salt
Mix butter with the sugar, powdered vanilla (or cinnamon or anise powder), and salt. Add egg yolks and flour. Work into a dough. Wrap doug and refrigerate for one hour or overnight. Roll out dough to 3mm (mine was 1/4 inch thick) thick. Cut dough with cutters and bake until golden in a preheated oven at 325 degrees F.
Let cool on a rack and dust with powdered sugar.
