Mommy Moments

Remember this post about things I want to do with my kiddos, well last week I have to report that we managed to do a few from the list. Primarily, the cook with my kiddos, but we baked instead, and we certainly did make some time to be messy in the kitchen. The day started with AJ and Ella Sofia feeling sick and with low-grade temperatures. AJ was fighting a cold, and I blame Ella Sofia's temperature to teething, but regardless, it was a good excuse to stay home, in pj's for most of the day, bake and get messy. It was a day to let some of the rules slide, eat more sugar than we can possibly eat on a normal day, and make a sick day be as fun as it can be. Trust me I don't enjoy having sick children. For the most part, they are fussy, whiny, needy, and clingy when they are sick as I am sure I am too when I get sick. I am not trying to encourage AJ to play sick on a school day either, but I am a usually a Mom with too many rules, who probably says no about 100 times a day, and definitely not the fun parent. The fun parent goes to the hubby, but on that day, I chose to be the fun parent and make the day the best it could possibly be for me {and trust me not a lot got done that day} and them. Overall, I say the day was as good as it could have gotten with my sick babies.

P.S. With these posts, I am not trying to proclaim I am the perfect mom. I most certainly am not. I have my rough days as we all moms do. Days where I wish I could get even one minute to myself. What I hope to do with these posts, is to document those really good moments because there are days that being a mom is tough and these posts will serve to remind me that I can maybe turn those really bad days into good days.
