Mommies Behind the Blog: Kelly of Classically Eclectic
Today, I'm happy to introduce another super Mom with twins, Kelly of Classically Eclectic. This lady does it all. A full-time job, a blog, a flourishing etsy shop, and being a fashionable Mom to her adorable and equally fashionable twins. She does a great job at documenting little moments with her twins on her instagram feed.
NAME, OCCUPATION, AND KIDS?
Kelly, Marketing Researcher, 2 kids- 13 month old boy/girl twins
MORNING ROUTINE?
My alarm goes off at 5:45; I like to take my time getting ready, and this is really my only time that I have all to myself. I shower, make my {first} coffee, and get. Around 7:00 AM we start making breakfast {scrambled eggs with cheese and sometimes bacon}, and I pack my lunch. The twins wake up between 7:15 and 8, so I wait around to get them out of bed and feed them breakfast before I leave for work on most days. If they sleep in I usually try to head home a little early so I can see them before their 7:00 PM bed time!
MOMMY UNIFORM?
At work I wear heels and skirts or dresses every day, so when I am not working I want to be comfortable! I have not really changed the way I dress since having the twins though. In the fall/winter I wear leggings or slim jeans with long sweaters or tunics, a puffer vest and boots of some sort. In the summer I wear a lot of dresses or cargo pants {*the cute kind from J.Crew or Gap!} and tanks. I ALWAYS wear chunky necklaces though. I think they elevate any and every outfit. Plus, when I am in a pinch I can give them to the twins to play with while we are out and about. They love sparkly things!
BEAUTY AND/OR EXCERCISE?
Usually 1-2 weeks nights I do some type of facial mask, and every night I bleach my teeth with whitestrips {because I drink a lot of coffee as of late!} after the twins are in bed. Once a month I make it a priority to get a manicure/pedicure on a Saturday morning. As far as exercise goes, does chasing around and carrying two babies count? I also do lunges while holding my son, Charlie. He is five pounds heavier than his sister {24 lbs!}, so it is a workout! He thinks it’s hilarious. Other than that my employer has a brand new Life Center with classes every day before and after work and also during lunch hour. I try to go to the Thighs, Butts, and Guts class once a week, but it {sadly} does not always happen.
WHAT WOULD YOU TELL 22-YEAR OLD SELF?
Wear your damn retainers!! I am hoping to do Invisalign in the next year or so. Ugh. And drink more water!
HAVE YOU HAD TO HIRE OUTSIDE HELP {FOR EXAMPLE HOUSE CLEANING OR BABYSITTER}?
We really have not done this. I hope to hire a cleaning service this summer. One of the twins' NICU nurses watches them one day a week, but other than that my husband watches them four days a week for the next few months until he finishes his last semester of evening law school.
ROLE MODEL?
Hmm.. this is a tough one! I guess I look up to any mom who is able to put her family first and still have a career and hobbies of her own. It is not easy!
HOLIDAY TRADITIONS {OR ANY YOU ARE STARTING} WITH YOUR KIDS?
We do not really have any yet, but I have several ideas yet for next year! I have a little notebook that I keep with ideas for them, but I really need to just start a Pinterest board!
YOUR SECRET TO HAVING A SUCCESSFUL BLOG/BUSINESS AND FAMILY BALANCE?
Prioritizing. I kind of went on hiatus from blogging last year. I hope to rectify that this year and am in the process of starting a blog refresh!
HOW DID YOU DECIDE TO START YOUR BUSINESS?
I was constantly making things for my daughter, Sloane: onesies, headbands, etc. People on instagram {@kelkru} started asking where they could purchase them, so after several months I finally took the plunge and opened an etsy shop, Bub & Bug Studio. I LOVE creating! My full time job can be very analytical, so I love just being able to play with sparkly things without having to worry about factor analyses or sample sizes!
HOW DO YOU MAKE YOUR HOME KID-FRIENDLY?
I have certain areas of the house where they have total freedom. The rest is off-limits. So far this works!
THREE THINGS YOU CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT {BESIDES YOUR FAMILY OF COURSE}?
Coffee! I-phone. Extra fine tip pens for all the lists I make. Find my favorite here.
Thanks for having me, Sara! This is such a cute series!

I want for Ella Sofia. And Kelly totally rocks in my book. I was one overwhelmed mom with my first and she has twins and makes being a new Mom so easy.
