NAME, OCCUPATION, HOW MAY KIDS?
Shea McGee, Interior Designer at Shea McGee Design. I have one little girl - her name is Wren and she is 11 months old.
WHAT HELPS YOUR MORNING ROUTINE BE EASIER?
My husband! He wakes up before me and plays with the baby while I get ready for the day. That 30 minutes makes a big difference!
MOMMY UNIFORM?
I wear Gap legging jeans, a floaty top from Anthropologie and Madewell skimmers.
BEAUTY/EXERCISE ROUTINE?
I go to barre class and hot yoga several times a week - for me, exercise isn't just about looking good, it feels great to clear my head and get an energy boost. Wren and I also go for a daily stroll.
My beauty routine has been streamlined significantly in the last year - I let my hair air dry, curl over the frizzy pieces and finish it off with a little Moroccan oil. My makeup routine is pretty simple - a little tinted moisturizer, YSL Touche Eclat, Dior liquid liner, Voluminous mascara, Nars blush and Mac Cremesheen in "Floating Lotus".
WHAT WOULD YOU TELL YOUR 22-YEAR OLD SELF?
Live it up! Take a few more trips and soak in all that spare time you have.
HAVE YOU HAD TO HIRE OUTSIDE HELP TO FULFILL ANY OF YOUR DUTIES?
I have a house cleaner {best decision ever}, but I have yet to hire a babysitter. However, I have a feeling when that second nap goes away that I might need a little more help!
ROLE MODEL?
My mom. She taught me all about style, creativity and most importantly being a good mother.
HOLIDAY TRADITIONS YOU ARE STARTING WITH YOUR KID{S}?
Although it seems that most of our traditions revolve around food, one of my favorite traditions is what my dad called a "sleigh ride" - I grew up in Texas where there was no snow, so we would pile in the Jeep with the top down, pile on blankets, sip hot cocoa and blast Christmas music. My husband and I have continued this since we got married and fully intend to pass those memories down to our kids.
YOUR SECRET TO HAVING A SUCCESSFUL BLOG/BUSINESS AND FAMILY BALANCE?
Ha! I wish I knew that secret myself. I am still trying to figure that one out. Usually, I work late hours and sacrifice a little sleep, so I can spend most of the day with my family. I feel like the key to work/family success is to be flexible and be so in love with what you're doing that it doesn't feel like "work".
HOW DO YOU KEEP YOUR HOME KID-FRIENDLY?
I have baskets everywhere to store blankets and toys - I love these from Serena and Lily. I also feel like I am constantly sprucing.
THREE THINGS YOU CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT?
1. My iPhone with my favorite Rifle Paper Co. case.
2. My Starbuck's cold cup - it keeps me drinking water all day long!
3. Ray-Ban aviators.
FAVORITE BABY GEAR?
• My Rebecca Minkoff diaper bag also doubles as a fabulous work tote.
• Boon Grass drying rack - cute enough to leave on the counter.
• OXO sprout highchair - modern and easy to clean!
• Freshly Picked moccasins - they stay on and go with everything.
