Happy Monday! A few changes happening here on the blog. I have decided that as a response to the blog survey from late last year I will start featuring scenes from our weekend as you already see in many other blogs. While it's not an original idea, I'm trying to include more bits of my life, what I'm doing, projects of our home, and things I'm loving as you requested. I also figure this will help me with practicing my photography skills. My good things posts will remain but they will just be moved to sometime in the week.
The weekend included:
• The temps really warmed up and so I pulled my new J.Crew pj's and started reading a new book this weekend and I'm really enjoying this new read. Find it here. As I stated in my 2014 manifesto, I really want to read more and I just finished the book "Where'd You Go Bernadette" I started last August. By the way, I was in a pinch for a new bookmark and I just cut up a small section of my favorite ribbon and inserted it in the book. I have no idea why I had never thought of doing this before.
• My focus this year is to finish decorating and furnishing our master bedroom. It feels like an immense room and honestly our master closet could be a lot bigger, so I am working on a dressing area that will also help keep track of my go-to items. It will also help figure out what I'm not wearing. Simplify is another of my goals this year and I am beginning to think I could edit my wardrobe some more. I'm currently in the search of a big mirror to lean against one of the walls in our bedroom. Anyway more on this later. {That photo was taken with my iPhone. Photos with my camera will be coming soon.}
• Finally ate some of the pink truffles. They really are good, but sweet so I would say save them for an occasion when you can enjoy them with champagne to cut down on the sweetness. And my favorite lip balm I keep on my beside table. This stuff helps keep my lips moisturized.
• I hadn't jumped on d'Orsay flats bandwagon, but when I saw these on Crystalin, I couldn't help myself but add them to my wardrobe. They will definitely be a staple as the temps warm up.
• I mailed my almost 16-year-old niece/goddaughter a little care package I knew she would appreciate. This Chanel face cleanser.
• Ella Sofia has been on quite the growth spurt and was in need of new sweaters and tops. Thank goodness for the cutest pullovers from Zara.
• I celebrated a small victory when I found the discontinued Tory Burch Robinson Satchel {the large one and not the middy version} on eBay for half the price. It's preowned, but in almost perfect condition. I turned to Crystalin when I needed help making my decision on my eBay purchase. Thank you Crystalin again! I have been hunting for the perfect black handbag and while it's not a Celine, it's a classic handbag and I love the shape and the Tory Burch quality is superb. This is definitely becoming a signature piece.
• I kept my Super Bowl outfit very basic with some of my favorite classics. We watched part of the game at friends' house and met their new baby for the first time.
So this covers my weekend {and a trip to McDonald's for lunch with the kiddos on Saturday while the hubby worked that I opted not to include here}. Anyway, now it's your turn. I want to hear all about your exciting weekend.
