3-Day Whole Body Cleanse

smoothiecarrotsThere's nothing like the end of winter to motivate me to get my body {and health} back. Last week, the hubby and I started a 3-day body cleanse. The cleanse included limiting our diet to berry-kale smoothies, fruits for snacks, kale salad for dinner, and a side of veggies if we were still hungry. After just the first day, I noticed a difference. The first day was definitely the hardest though. The cleanse made me realize some of my bad eating habits. Like sometimes eating past the point of being full and how I can improve my snacking habits. It also made me realize that by making small changes to my diet, I will physically feel better. I'm definitely going to try and eat more veggies and fruits, and more salads now that the weather is warmer. But since vacation starts on Friday, it's inevitable that I will make some bad choices. I may need to repeat this cleanse on my return. So for those of you who asked, my cleanse basically revolved around fruits and vegetables. I didn't follow any particular plan. The main objective was to cleanse my body of processed foods, meats, and carbs. And as a bread eater, eliminating the carbs from my diet was a bit hard. You can take away my meat, but take the bread away and you'll be sorry. Ha!Here are some of the foods I ate with this cleanse:Smoothies - I have a whole Pinterest board dedicated to this so if you need any ideas check it out. My basic smoothie recipe most of the time includes kale, spinach, frozen or fresh berries, protein powder, a ripe banana, and an apple.Salads - This is my favorite kale salad and I also made a version of this squash salad.Veggies - I could snack on this broccoli recipe all day long. It's a favorite.images 1 by own, 2 via @cannellevanille
