Mosaic District in Fairfax

One of the things I love about traveling is experiencing new places with the littles and getting them used to new cultures and new surroundings. While they may not be the best travel companions yet, they make it more fun and when it's not fun, we somehow manage to reward them for putting up with our plans by treating them to something they will like, such as gelato in this instance. Nothing like the good old bribery method. But then again I also had my coffee so it was a win-win.

I say whatever you have to do to make everyone happy when traveling with kids. That's pretty much my philosophy. Which brings me to this. I was recently scrolling through Oh Happy Day's instagram feed and I liked her philosophy too. But I have digressed and I'll talk more about that subject in a future post.So yesterday, we found ourselves at the Mosaic District in Fairfax. And here are a few photos from the day.

To tell you the truth I wasn't expecting Fairfax to be this fashionable, but much to my surprise the Mosaic District is a new and upcoming area full of neat shops and restaurants. And it seems to be growing with more good spots coming to the area soon. I was excited to visit Dolcezza since I spotted those pretty purple cups on their website and I'm happy the gelato DC chain brought me here. I only had a few hours to explore and I already know I missed some good spots.
