How Do You Do "Me Time"?

I don't know exactly why {I blame the post-Christmas blues}, but at the beginning of the new year, I found myself feeling down. A lot. My only conclusion after doing some soul searching and reflecting is that my "me time" is pretty limited and I'm not fitting in some pretty important activities during my normal day. I'm referring to exercise, healthy eating, and sticking to my daily beauty routine. After analyzing my normal day, I realized that if I only planned my days better I could maybe fit it all in. So in my effort to be more productive and use my time wisely, I decided to revamp some small areas of our home where I can devote time for myself away from everything else -- to plan my day, to escape, to have some me-time.

I revamped two existing areas -- my tiny office nook and the master bedroom--and our dining room of all places, has served as my pop-up me-time space. These are areas where I can go to recharge my batteries, and to feel inspired and motivated.

In the master bedroom, a small update such as new sheets revived the space. It makes me want to get in bed with a cup of coffee and a new book -- a favorite weekend activity.

My pop-up me-time space is in the dining room as I stated above. Just by adding a candle, my favorite flowers, and a magazine, I quickly create a space to unwind from the day. Side note: Pale blush roses are becoming my new favorite flower because they are easily available and accessible all year round. You gotta love reliability.

My tiny office nook was desperate for a makeover. After the holidays, this space quickly became lost in a pile of holiday cards and wrapping paper, and it sort of became a dumping zone for all incoming mail. I realized that a complete makeover was due and I jumped at the opportunity to really make it my own. After adding an inspiration board, a new lamp, and some new accessories in soft, neutral shades, this space looks completely new. This is the space where I dedicated most of my efforts, because this is where I end up working during the day. It also was the space that needed the most work.

Basically, things that inspire me - pretty images, notes that serve as good reminders {such as "thank you" and "have a nice(er) day"}, and clothes tags with pretty fonts. I layered it all with a pink tassel, a ribbon, and a feather to add dimension and different textures. And I tied all of the elements with neutral and blush pink tones.workspace-nolamp-saramueller

Because I can be very Type A and because I'm the planner type, I've come up with a plan for how to fit all of my important daily activities. And here's how I'm making more of that precious me time:

- Go to bed earlier and wake up earlier.

- Plan out my day and make my to-do list for the next day.

- Upon waking up, grab a coffee and sit and analyze my to-do list.

- Plan healthy meals for the day or week.

- Follow my morning beauty routine and get dressed for the gym.

- On weekends, grab a book or magazine and escape for a few minutes.

Now, you tell me. How do you do me-time? #TargetStyle
