Ems Turns 4
As you've probably already seen from Instagram, Ems turned 4 on Friday. But it just so happened that the celebration started the day before at the beach. One of my best friends had invited me to lunch by the beach so we took Ems along for the girl date and made it a day.
After our leisurely lunch, we made the walk to the beach and we were in pure awe by the clear aqua blue water. I took the opportunity of taking some photos of little Ems enjoying herself to document the day.
We also found the perfect pink bougainvillea-covered trellis to hide from the sun as it was a hot and humid day. It provided a picture perfect scene so of course we took a few photos.
The morning of her birthday I surprised them with birthday donuts and a tiny piñata. We sang happy birthday and enjoyed donuts for breakfast. And coincidentally, it just so happened that it was National Donut Day so it seemed more than fitting for the celebration.
We continued the celebration by a lunch date at American Girl and she got to pick her own American Girl doll. She was beaming with happiness and a little overwhelmed as it was her first time at the American Girl store. And to our surprise, the food was delicious. At the end of our meal, they brought out a cake, sang happy birthday, and Ems blew out the candles. I highly recommend you do this if you have a little girl. The whole experience is worth it.
On Sunday, the celebration continued with a small party and our friends.
I made a small cake and decorated it with a pink peony, cupcakes to go with the theme, and of course balloons were involved.
Happy birthday little Ems! We are so blessed to have you!
