Birthday Girl in Paris
I could easily fill up my instagram feed with Paris posts. I mean I think I already have. It's just that Paris is one of those cities that leaves you inspired with its natural beauty and history. Obviously, I took about a thousand photos in one week. Today though, I want to go back to my birthday in Paris. We didn't mean for our trip to fall on my birthday, but when we looked at the hubby's schedule it just so happened that it was his only week open this summer. Lucky me! Of course I didn't hesitate one bit that our trip just happened to fall on my birthday. And I have to say, celebrating my birthday in Paris was pretty unforgettable.
We started the day with breakfast at Ladurée. Since I had only ever had their macarons, I wanted the dining experience and of course it didn't disappoint. The French toast was my favorite. It seemed to me that it's coated in brown butter which gives it a very unique and decadent flavor. And their coffee with crema was also so good.
After breakfast we took a jaunt to the Arc du Triomphe. We made an attempt at climbing the stairs all the way to the top for the view, but there was an enormous line. The elevator was being repaired and that wasn't an option either. But we left something to do for our next trip to Paris.
After our quick stop at the Arc, we headed straight to Avenue Montaigne that's filled with designer stores. To my surprise, the hubby bought me a Chanel brooch to celebrate our 10-year anniversary and a Céline bag for my birthday. Because when in Paris right? No complaints over here.
Aside from the presents, I was filled with happiness to be in Paris. I kept pinching myself to make sure it was all real. Since all of the walking and shopping made us hungry, we went straight to Ralph's for a late lunch. The fried olives were a favorite and that burger was probably the best burger I've ever had.
Easily, I could have eaten at Ralph's every day. It was probably my favorite of all. The setting and decor were just breathtaking and I really felt like I was in Paris {aside from the American food}.
Also did I mention we sat next to Harvey Keitel?
