Life Lately
A few short notes about my life lately.
Carpe DiemLately, I feel that from the minute I wake up to the minute I put the kids to bed, I'm constantly juggling so many different things, that I don't get anything done. I know I'm to blame as in my effort to multi-task, I'm losing focus and not taking the time to make a to-do list. Inevitably, I forget things and I haven't been planning as well. So to change that, I'm waking up earlier, making a to-do list and setting out a plan for the day. I obviously need to reread this wonderful post.On My NightstandI'm that person that buys books mainly for their cover. So when I spotted The Regulars I had to get it. And yes, I've started reading it and it's very entertaining. I started First Comes Love on our way to Paris {and I love it} and I have yet to finish reading The Nightingale. Next on my buy list, is this book.Recent BuysI hate to say this, but miraculously I wasn't in the shopping mood when the Shopbop sale happened. Weird huh? Also, several of the things I had my eye on weren't available in my size which probably made it harder to shop. Anyway, I snapped out it and recently ordered this top, this sweater, these jeans, and these shoes. Hopefully, they work out. I'll keep you posted.Halloween I know many of you don't like this particular holiday, but when you have kids, things change. And because I'm all about keeping with traditions, we have to carve the pumpkins, make Halloween-shaped pancakes, and decorate a bit. I'm also turning my favorite chocolate mousse tart into a spooky Halloween dessert. I'll be sharing that recipe soon.Christmas & Tree TrimmingMy absolute favorite holiday in case you didn't know is Christmas. Come this time of year, I'm already thinking about gifts, decor, and even planning a menu. I'm fully aware that Halloween isn't over, but I just can't help myself. I even recently watched The Holiday and it reminded me that I needed to come up with my version of "Christmas Fettuccine". And I did! Of course, as Christmas nears, I'll be sharing that recipe. And speaking of decor, I was perusing the Home section at Anthropologie recently and finally found these swan ornaments I've been wanting for years, since reading this beautiful post.Less Is MoreSpeaking of gifts, this year we've decided on minimizing the amount of gifts the kids get, because seriously, they don't need anymore toys. They have so many that I don't think they really appreciate what they have. I've talked to them about donating some of their toys and that's something we are working towards. I would much rather give them great experiences and we might just make another trip to Disney World and visit family during the holiday break.
