My Favorite Cookbooks

The new season has inspired a few new cookbook additions, but there are also those cookbooks that I revisit almost weekly. What can I say, I prefer cookbooks over online recipes. And I enjoy reading them and looking at the pretty, styled photos. So I thought I would share my list of old favorites and new ones.

Whiskey In A TeacupI haven't actually cooked anything out of Reese Witherspoon's cookbook, but so far I have enjoyed the stories and articles, and I already have a few recipes bookmarked. Order it from Target as it has an exclusive chapter just for Target shoppers.Magnolia TableI just added this book to my collection. It's full of wonderful photos and I can't wait to try her biscuits recipe. The Gourmet CookbookA classic cookbook and one that features a few of our favorite recipes like the vodka sauce we use for our raviolis and my go-to chocolate chip cookie recipe.Barefoot Contessa FoolproofCome this time of year, this book is often found open on our kitchen counter. The truffled mashed potatoes often make an appearance for Sunday dinners, the tomato crostini with whipped feta is a delicious holiday appetizer, the salmon and melting cherry tomatoes is a great weeknight meal, and the chicken with wild mushrooms is always a crowd pleaser. I can't wait to add her new cookbook soon.Williams Sonoma Essentials of Slow CookingOur favorite carnitas recipe comes from this cookbook, but in here you'll also find delicious comfort meals for this time of year. Or try their new cookbook.Sunday SuppersThe avocado crema, the fish tacos, the tortilla soup, and the pickled red onions will be a hit for your next taco or Mexican night. This time of year, I also like to do the cinnamon iced coffee and cream. And it has a great holiday section too!Julia Child Mastering the Art of French CookingIf you're cooking French classics like coq au vin and beef bourguignon this is the book.MietteIf you're looking for a macaron recipe this is the book for that. I also love the graham cracker and the peanut butter cookie recipes. The Joy of CookingAnother classic full of great recipes.

Tis' the season for all the fall baking.
