Autumn in Vermont

As I was looking for new and fresh content for the fall season, I realized that I never shared these photos from our trip to Vermont last fall. Don't ask me why, but better late than never, right? Our trip came about after I won two free nights at a resort. And since the hubs has family in Vermont, we decided to go for it and extend our trip with his aunt and uncle.

We spent the majority of our time in Stowe, but the hubby and I managed to fit in a day trip to Woodstock. Of course, we had to stop and snap some photos of the famous and picturesque Woodstock Inn.

Their annual fall decor on their front porch just begs for a photo.

Woodstock is so charming and quaint. Just how I would picture a New England town.

As you can see, the fall colors were just starting to show. I was really hoping for a true New England fall palette, but alas another year maybe.

This was my hiking outfit. I wore my classic Talbots quilted jacket over some warm layers.

And of course, there had to be a trip to the apple farm. Completely obligatory! Because when in Vermont.

I chose to wear my Hunter Boots as you never know if the ground will be wet, but I think they completed the look too. My Madewell tote also served as a good place to carry all the apples.

One of our favorite activities was to visit this farm where the kids could roam around freely. They even got to help with chores such as collecting eggs.

We completed our bucket list with canoeing on the lake, and the mandatory play with all the fallen leaves.

We're definitely planning another trip up.

Sigh. It was a wonderful trip. It was nice to escape this endless summer that Miami is and actually experience cooler, chilly weather. The only downside to the trip was that we didn't get to see all the fall colors. The leaves were just starting to change and a lot of the trees were still green. Sadly, we got there too early in the fall to see it in all its glory.

Even though we didn't get to see fall with all of its beautiful colors, we still did all the fall things -- we visited an apple farm, we went canoeing, hiking, and the kids played in the fallen leaves. We even managed to visit a farm and the kids had fun with the chickens.

It was nice to pull some of our cold weather layers and feel that crisp autumn air.
