Action Plan for Dining Room {On A Budget}

Lately, I have been lacking inspiration as far as our home interior design goes. This summer has been so busy with my recent one-month trip to the west and a few ongoing projects and maybe that's why. But when I saw this image it completely revived my motivation to keep going with making our home our own. Isn't it funny when just one simple image or one thing will inspire you to tackle something you've been wanting to do? Anyway, when I put together this post last Friday, it got me thinking that I really need an action plan to tackle this room especially since we are spending the holidays here {yes I am thinking about Christmas already} and I would love to have our first in-house Christmas dinner in our formal dining room. The budget for this room is really, really low. So here's the plan and my goal is to get most of it before the holidays.

1. This photo became the inspiration for this whole room and now I am on a mission to find six chairs like these. I am seriously considering these look-a-likes.
2. Maybe attempt this diy project and replace the existing chandelier. The total cost for this diy is approximately $170. Or my dream would be to find a good looking lighting fixture like the one in the picture numbered 1.
3. Eventually replace the blinds in the room with some cheap Ikea curtains and add trim like here.
4. Find an Audubon print to hang above the sideboard. {image credit}
5. Pick up this foyer table (on sale) to be used as a sideboard. I hope my birthday coupon is still valid. This one is happening today. {image credit}

My priorities for this room is obviously to find chairs, get a sideboard table, and fix our dining table. I would love to replace the chandelier and get curtains, but if that doesn't happen by mid-December and the rest does, I would be one happy lady. I would also love to find a couple of lamps to place on the sideboard and a few accessories to complete the room. Anyway, whatever progress I make I will make sure to share it with you via instagram and here of course.
