Happy Weekend

Aren't you glad it's Friday? I am excited for the weekend because I am hoping to tackle a project that's been on my mind for a while. I have seriously neglected our formal dining room and when I saw this image in the latest issue of Better Homes & Gardens, it gave me the motivation I needed. This is exactly what I have had on my mind for the room. BHG is a magazine that has been impressing me lately and I finally renewed my subscription after letting go of it for the past year.

Remember our table we had custom made in Peru, well it seems that the wood was not properly cured/dried {whatever the correct terminology is} and it's been slowly cracking, but thank goodness it's fixable. I was also never pleased with the color so I might just start sanding it this weekend. Eventually I want the color of the table to look like this and because our budget is low I would love to attempt this diy to replace the light fixture in the room as well. We don't have chairs for this space either, but I have a plan to resolve that soon. So let's add the dining room to my list of projects for the year. Have a wonderful weekend!
